I met up with the Tall and gorgeous Ladies putting on the Sarahi Fashion show at Funkshion on Saturday, October 23rd. I set up 3 550ex units on TT5 transcievers. I took a few shots of the Kids show, some backstage candids of the Sarahi models, then stuck around for the Islands Of The world show. My lights were competing with the big tungsten runway lights, and the 5D seems to set the same shutter speed at different ISOs for some inexplicable reason. I still got quite a few real gems. Here I have simply uploded everything wherre the model, the couture, or both, look decent or better.

Question by lilhotrod065: when can a girl start to shave?
my daughter is 12 i have allowed her to use hair remover on her legs, which she loves and doing ok with. the issue is her private area and arm pits. She is to trim her private area due to being on team in gymnastics and the leotards that they wear. She goes to state meets so she is very good and hopefully this will keep going for a while.
The other problem is she has a hair above her lip and it is dark, what is a easy way to remove some or all? least painful please
Is there a way to decrease hair on the arms also?
She has been and is on A lot of meds and this has caused her hair to grow thick and long in all areas. She is starting middle school next year and i am begin to see that it is affecting her.
She cuts her hair every year for locks of love (kids with cancer) and each year she gives 18 to 22 inches. that is how fast her hair grows.
I know some will ask so she has narcolepsy and epilepsy.

My answer is waxing or laser treatments. Wax is a bit painful but will last a while and takes seconds and is inexpensive. Laser treatments costs a lot more, I don’t think they are painful and they are usually permanent.
For her lips I suggest plucking, if it works like eyebrow.
TTell her dr about the hair prob, it may be an avoidable side effect.
I don’t think it is too early for her to start shaving if that is what you mean. I think that shaving the arm pits is something she should definitely start doing because it can cause odor even if she is not the sweaty type. As far as the upper lip, waxing is probably the best. It will sting the first couple of times (I don’t recommend you doing this yourself; almost every nail salon will do it for about $ 5.) but then it wont hurt as much.
My only thing is that make sure your daughter is just as concerned with her extra hair as you are. If you bring it up and she has not thought about it, it may cause a blow to her self esteem.
i started shaving when i was 10
you can use nair for facial cream for her lip
i have hair on my arms and i do not recomend shaving it you coukd get laser hair removal
nair has wax things especially made for upper lip;; they are not so hurtful as a real wax;; but there’s also threading.
&& i havnt found anything to decrease hair.. i shave my arms since
i was in middle school because i felt uncomfortable.. im lucky no one teased me..
but kids can be very harmful.. i say you let her shave if she wants to..
the only other thing would be laser hair removal;; but that’s expensive and takes years.. its about 6 treatments with 6 months in between;;
i believe the least painful option is laser hair removal. you can call a dermatologist and ur family dr and ask them if she’s old enough to do that. alternatively she can bleach her upper lip if she doesnt want to wax it.
waxing though is safe for all ages if she’s ok with the pain.you can try waxing instead of honey-wax. it takes a bit longer but it’s much better for sensitive skin and reduces redness and pealing.
also i would definitely check those meds she’s on
Hopefully she will not have to take these medications permanently and the hair growth will stop by itself.
If not you have to consider shaving, waxing or laser treatments.
It’s got nothing to do with age.
I would suggest that she starts shaving her armpits, and if you can get her a specialist trimmer for her pubes that would help too.
For her lip, she could bleach it, or otherwise I would suggest saving up for lazer therapy.
Arm hair is a difficult one – I have quite a lot – got teased as gorilla arms by my evil cousins, but I wouldn’t want to mess around with shaving – perhaps hair removal cream as well?
Finally, you could ask your doctor if something like metformin might help reduce her hair growth and wouldn’t interact with her other meds.
Hair remover creams are easy and she can do them herself.
I personally prefer waxing because it is easiest and does the most complete and accurate job. The salon employee does it all for you, plus you can combine it with a manicure and make it a spa treatment.
It is painful, but it’s over fast and after a while you get used to it.
I haven’t tried it, but there is also an option called threading that a lot of salons are starting to offer.
waxing is better
but laser treatment if u want to decrease hair
I think she would be fine to shave her armpits and bikini area, but not her face or arms. There isn’t really away to reduce the hair, you either leave it or get rid of all of it, no in between that i know of.
There is laser hair removal which is a bit painful (and expensive), there is hair removal cremes which are also mildly painful/ no pain, but i have found these don’t work very well, and waxing which is painful, but only for moments.
I started waxing in middle school, and the area becomes tougher the longer you do it.
If she is really uncomfortable with it, I would let her shave her legs, armpits, and arms (if they are that bad). And try to use Nair or a similar product on her face for now-they have specific ones for the face, don’t use the ones that are for legs on her face.
Good luck to you guys, i hope you can find something that works great for her!! I have been there and kids can be so mean over something that we have no control over.
